Players of MP making their mark in boxing

  • Sarang inaugurates 41st Elite Men’s and 7th Women’s State Level Boxing Championship

Bhopal: Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang on Saturday inaugurated the “41st Elite Men’s and 7th Women’s MP State Level Boxing Championship 2024” at the Martial Arts Complex located at Tatya Tope Stadium, Bhopal. On this occasion, he encouraged all the participants and called upon them to maintain the sportsmanship.

Minister Sarang said that the state government is continuously working for the promotion of sports and encouragement of players. He said that sports are a powerful medium for the physical and mental development of youth. Such events not only work to bring out talents, but also instill discipline and confidence in them.

Outstanding players will be selected in regional team

Hundreds of male and female boxers from various districts of Madhya Pradesh have participated in this championship. Participants are showcasing their excellent sporting talent in the competition. This championship is being organized in different weight categories, in which players are competing with their skills and technical proficiency. It is noteworthy that players will be selected for Main Elite Boxing Championship Bareilly, UP and Elite Women Boxing Championship, Bhopal from this competition organized till 16 December.

Emphasis on development of sports infrastructure

Sarang told that continuous efforts are being made for the development of sports infrastructure in the state. While encouraging the players, he said that in sports like boxing, players of Madhya Pradesh are also making their mark at national and international level.

On this occasion, Sports Director Ravi Gupta, Joint Director BL Yadav, Technical Director of Madhya Pradesh Boxing Association Virendra Singh Thakur, senior sports officers, coaches, and sports lovers were present. During the program, Minister Sarang also encouraged the young players by having a cordial conversation with them.
