Washington, (UNI/SPUTNIK) A small plane crash near a remote area of Colorado’s Emerald Mountain left four individuals dead, local newspaper Sky-Hi News reported on Friday.
The accident happened on Thursday night, the report said, citing Routt County Sheriff Doug Scherar. The bodies of the deceased individuals were recovered the same night and are now undergoing an identification.
The crash involved an Epic Aircraft E1000 and happened close to midnight. Its flight schedule is unknown.
The report however noted that the plane was flying close to the Bob Adams Airport in the city of Steamboat Springs and eventually crashed on the south-facing side of the Emerald Mountain’s summit.
In light of the accident, the US National Transportation Safety Board said via X that it launched an inquiry into the accident.
