Bhopal: Police personnel in Bhopal celebrated the festival of colours, Holi, with great enthusiasm during a Holi Milan ceremony organised at the Kabaddi Ground in Lal Parade Maidan on Friday. The event was hosted by the Police Headquarters and witnessed the participation of senior officers, personnel and their family members.
Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana attended the programme as the chief guest and extended Holi greetings to police officers and staff from across the State. Special Director General of Police Pankaj Srivastava, Anil Kumar and Ashutosh Rai, along with Commandant of the 7th Battalion Hitesh Chaudhary, were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Makwana urged police personnel to continue performing their duties with honesty, dedication and commitment. He said Holi symbolises the victory of good over evil and advised officers and staff to stay away from social evils such as substance abuse, noting that addiction can harm both family life and professional careers.
He also referred to the 100th birth anniversary celebration of former DGP H.M. Joshi, describing him as a source of inspiration for the police force.
Teams from various police units presented traditional faag and Holi songs, adding colour to the celebration. The event concluded with a lively band performance and distribution of awards to participating teams.
