Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Jeetu Patwari on Monday launched a scathing attack on the BJP government, alleging failures across governance, public safety and employment. Addressing the media in the presence of Congress media department chairman Mukesh Nayak, Patwari said the reported stopping of Shankaracharya from taking a holy dip at the Magh Mela and the lathi-charge on his followers exposed the ruling party’s “double standards” on Sanatan Dharma.
Citing Rahul Gandhi’s recent Indore visit, Patwari claimed the state was grappling with polluted air, water and even medicines. He alleged that officers removed after child deaths in the Chhindwara cough syrup case and water contamination deaths in Indore were later rewarded with key postings.
Patwari accused the government of suppressing youth demanding MPPSC recruitments, rising debt despite investment claims, worsening women’s safety, increasing cow slaughter incidents and rampant drug trafficking. He said the Congress would intensify its statewide agitation on jobs, transparency and public safety.
