Patwari calls for strengthening of Congress

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Jeetu Patwari on Tuesday addressed a Panchayat/Ward Committee conference in the Sarangpur Assembly constituency of Rajgarh district as part of the party’s ongoing organisational restructuring campaign. He urged party workers to take the Congress ideology effectively to the booth level, strengthen the organisation at the grassroots and expose what he described as the anti-people policies of the BJP government.

Interacting with Congress workers, Patwari outlined the party’s forthcoming organisational strategy and said the Congress would intensify its struggles on public interest issues from the panchayat level to the state level. He emphasised that only a strong and disciplined organisation rooted at the ground level could effectively counter the ruling party.

The conference was also addressed by state organisation secretary Sanjay Kamle, state training in-charge Mahendra Joshi and Rajgarh district Congress president and former minister Priyavrat Singh, who stressed the need for unity, discipline and coordinated action within the party.

Several senior leaders, including Rajgarh district panchayat president Chander Singh, Shajapur district Congress president Ramnareshwar Singh and former MLAs Ramchandra Dangi, Bapu Singh Tanwar, Hajari Lal Malviya, Hemraj Kalponi and Krishna Mohan Malviya, were present along with a large number of party workers.

Speaking to the media, Patwari launched a sharp attack on central government, alleging that international pressure had forced the government into signing a trade deal detrimental to Indian farmers. He claimed the agreement would harm small Indian farmers and said the Congress would oppose it at the panchayat level, calling it “farmer-anti” and against national interests.
