Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Jeetu Patwari on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing both the central and state governments of running regimes steeped in corruption and hypocrisy. Addressing reporters, Patwari dared the BJP to name a single ministry in Madhya Pradesh where work takes place without corruption. “If even one honest minister exists, I will publicly honour him,” he asserted.
Patwari claimed the BJP’s ideology is rooted in corruption, citing demonetisation and GST as schemes designed to favour select industrialists while burdening the masses. “For eight years, workers, small traders and industries suffered due to GST. Now, when the Prime Minister himself admits to Rahul Gandhi’s point, who is responsible for the loot and destruction of the past years?” he asked.
Targeting Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s recent remarks, Patwari accused the BJP of exploiting religious sentiments for votes. He said Congress stood for harmony and the principle of “live and let live” rooted in Indian culture. “The BJP talks of cow protection for votes but under its rule India has become the largest beef exporter,” he alleged, pointing out that cow meat is taxed at 0% GST. “Is this not BJP’s double face?” he questioned.
Highlighting export figures, Patwari noted that Indore topped the state with exports worth ₹9,387.6 crore up to October 2025, followed by Dhar, Raisen, Singrauli and Sehore. He questioned how much of this comprised meat products and why the BJP remained silent.
Patwari announced statewide protests from 26–27 September against BJP’s “corruption, GST loot and hypocrisy.” He pledged Congress would protect cows and expose what he termed the BJP’s “fake cow devotion.”
He further revealed that Madhya Pradesh’s meat production in 2023–24 reached 152,250 tonnes, questioning why the BJP was promoting it while claiming to be guardians of cow protection.
