Patients not getting benefits of Ayushman cards in Hamidia Hospital

  • Card is returned citing technical fault
  • Have to wait for weeks to get treatment

Ayushman card holders are facing many difficulties in getting treatment in Hamidia Hospital, which is one of the biggest hospitals in the state.

Many patients allege that the hospital administration is reluctant to treat patients with Ayushman card. Patients say that when they go to Hamidia Hospital with Ayushman card for treatment, they are returned saying that there is some technical fault in their card. Apart from this, many patients have to wait for weeks to get treatment with Ayushman card, due to which their illness increases further.

Hospital administration’s reply

Dr. Kuldeep Gupta of Hamidia Hospital says that treatment is done with Ayushman card in this hospital and no patient is refused treatment. The hospital administration says that some patients may face problems due to technical difficulties, along with this he told that due to some problem in the head office of Ayushman Card of Madhya Pradesh, the money for the treatment of patients is not coming from there. Due to which they are facing problems, Dr. Gupta has assured that this problem will be fixed as soon as possible and the patients coming with Ayushman will be treated again.

One of the attendants, Satish Rajak’s father Ashok Rajak is undergoing treatment in Media Hospital. He has been getting his father treated for the last 3 years, but for the last few days when he comes for dialysis, the doctor refuses to use the Ayushman card, due to which he has to pay money for every dialysis session.

Mayank Saxena’s elder brother Ajay Saxena is undergoing treatment for throat cancer for the last 6 months. In which he has been paying money for every test for the last one month. Cancer tests are very expensive, he told that he is a salesman in a clothes shop and earns only 15 thousand rupees and half of his salary is spent on tests, due to which the financial burden on him is increasing.
