Passengers can begin their journey before boarding, without extra charges

Bhopal: In an exciting new development, the West Central Railway is set to introduce a remarkable convenience for passengers starting next month. This service promises to bring substantial benefits to travelers. According to railway officials, passengers will now be able to start their journey before reaching their designated boarding station, provided the seat is unoccupied. Importantly, no additional charges will apply for this service.

Currently, this facility has been launched by Eastern Railway, and West Central Railway is preparing to implement it. Senior DCM Saurabh Kataria shared that the Railway Board has issued instructions to the General Managers of all zones in this regard.

In addition, if a passenger fails to meet the TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner) at the boarding station, their ticket will be canceled, and the seat will be allocated to a passenger on the RAC (Reservation against Cancellation) list. The TTE will update the “Not Turned Up” status via their handheld terminal device, after which the seat will automatically be offered to the next passenger on the waiting list. A notification will be sent to the passenger, and if they arrive on time, their ticket will remain valid.

This innovative change is set to streamline the travel experience, enhancing convenience for all passengers.
