Paris, Jun 21 (UNI) India’s Neeraj Chopra edged out Germany’s Julian Weber to win the javelin throw title at the Paris Diamond League 2025.
Neeraj, a two-time Olympic medallist, won registering a best effort of 88.16m achieved during his first throw of the night. Weber finished second with a best throw of 87.88m- also his opening throw.
Weber had beaten Chopra twice in 2025 to the pole position, first in the Doha Diamond League and then a week later in the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial. Weber finished second with a best throw of 87.88m.
Brazil’s Luiz Maurício da Silva of Brazil finished third with a new South American record of 86.62m.
Paris 2024 Olympics bronze medallist Anderson Peters of Grenada came in the fifth place with a best throw of 80.29m.
London Olympic’s gold medalist Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago was fourth with a best throw of 81.66m
