Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif given the ignore, as PM Modi, President Putin walk by

Tianjin/New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif cut a sorry figure, standing by lamely as Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir, walk by talking animatedly, without glancing towards him, at the SCO Summit in Tianjin.

A video of the moment has gone viral, showing the Pakistan Premier standing next to his country’s flag, and all alone.

PM Modi and President Putin, absorbed in some interesting discussion, pass by, with no one even noticing the leader of Islamabad standing there.

Sharif is seen with a stiff expression on his face, as the two leaders walk past.

The picture has attracted numerous memes and interesting comments on social media, with many comparing the popularity of PM Modi, and being highly sought after by other leaders at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in Tianjin, with the Pakistani leader who was seen virtually bereft of companionship.

The Aug 31-Sep 1 Summit saw the presence of over 20 leaders of member countries as well as heads of international organisations.

In his address at the SCO Summit, PM Modi had spoken out strongly against terrorism, extremism and separatism as major challenges to development of the region.

He had also mentioned the Pahalgam terror attack as an assault not just on the conscience of India, but also an open challenge to every nation, and every individual who believes in humanity. “In such circumstances, it is natural to ask:

Can the open support for terrorism by certain countries ever be acceptable to us?” – in an open reference to Pakistan, with PM Shehbaz Sharif sitting among the audience.
