Pahalgam attack: India suspends visa service to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect

New Delhi, Apr 24 (UNI) Continuing its strong action against Pakistan in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, India today decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect.

It also said that all existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from April 27, 2025.

Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till April 29, 2025.

All Pakistani nationals currently in India must leave India before the expiry of visas, as now amended.

Indian nationals are strongly advised to avoid travelling to Pakistan. Those Indian nationals currently in Pakistan are also advised to return to India at the earliest, it said.

India on Wednesday downgraded its diplomatic ties with Pakistan, and announced it was suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, shutting down the Attari land border check post, and banning the entry of Pakistani nationals under the Saarc Visa programme. India also asked the defence advisors in the Pakistan High Commission to leave immediately, after terming them Persona Non Grata, and slashed the number of mission staff to 30 from 55.
