- A celebration of Nimari language and culture
Bhopal, In a heartfelt tribute to the vibrant Nimari language and culture, the Padma Shri Jagdish Joshila felicitation ceremony was held on Monday, July 28, at the Community Hall, Marutinandan Complex, Sahyog Vihar, Bhopal. Organized by the Rajdhani Nimad Samaj, the event celebrated Padma Shri Jagdish Joshila, a stalwart champion of the Nimari language.
The ceremony’s chief guest was Vishwas Sarang, Minister for Cooperatives, Sports, and Youth Welfare, who also serves as the In-charge Minister for Khargone Nimad. Distinguished guests included Khargone MLA Balkrishna Patidar, former Cabinet Minister and Kasarawad MLA Sachin Yadav, and former Minister P.C. Sharma. Nimad Samaj patron, Advocate Om Patidar, extended a warm welcome to all dignitaries.
Padma Shri Jagdish Joshila was honored with a shawl, a coconut, a citation, and a memento by Minister Sarang and other esteemed guests. Sachin Yadav emphasized that “honoring Jagdish Joshila is an honor for all Nimadis and the Nimari language—a matter of immense pride for us all.”
Dr. Ravi Thakkar skillfully emceed the event, and Ganpati Yadav, President of Nimad Samaj, read the citation and delivered the vote of thanks. Notably, Sachin Yadav, Balkrishna Patidar, and P.C. Sharma addressed the gathering in the Nimari language, as did Padma Shri Jagdish Joshila himself.
A call for official status: “Nimari is the mother of Nimad”
Padma Shri Jagdish Joshila passionately advocated for official state language status for Nimari, urging everyone to register Nimari as their language in the census. Minister Vishwas Sarang lauded Joshila for elevating Nimad and its language across India. Advocate Om Patidar further demanded that Khargone be designated a Nimad division, as Nimari is also spoken in Dhar district, beyond the traditional four Nimad districts. The event featured a soulful rendition by renowned Khandwa singer Praveen Choubey and culminated in a communal feast.
