Outsourced health workers in state await salaries for 4 months

  • Set to protest on April 22

Bhopal: Thousands of outsourced health workers across Madhya Pradesh have not received their salaries for the past four months, prompting statewide unrest. In response, members of the Madhya Pradesh Outsourced Health Workers Association submitted memorandums addressed to the Chief Minister at all district headquarters, including Bhopal.

Led by state president Komal Singh, general secretary Shatrughan Bele, district president Chitraveer Patel, and media in-charge Bhagwati Srivas, a large delegation reached the Bhopal Collector’s office demanding immediate redressal. They warned that if their demands are not met by April 21, they will stage a protest outside the residence of the Deputy Chief Minister and Health Education Minister on April 22.

The association claims that over 30,000 outsourced workers—including ward boys, support staff, data entry operators, and security personnel—are suffering due to non-payment of wages for 5-6 months in several districts. Many of these workers have previously served under the National Health Mission on contract. They also alleged wage exploitation and violations of minimum labor rate standards, demanding a high-level probe and strict action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, the MP Karmachari Manch has urged the state to align wages with central standards based on qualifications, citing figures ranging from Rs 18,066 to Rs 23,817.
