Crime – In six months, 113 rapes, 142 molestations, Code Red and Shakti Task Force missing from roads

Whether they live in luxury or penury, daughters are everything for their parents – dear to their fathers and the very heartbeat of their mothers. However, some anti-social elements always keep creating troubles and have bad intentions towards them.
With the aim of teaching a lesson to such miscreants and giving a sense of security to women, young women, girls, Code Red Police was started in 2017, which has now been closed. Apart from this, Shakti Task Force, which was formed to make Jabalpur molestation free in 2023, has now disappeared from the roads. In such a situation, daughters are not safe. In the last six months of 2024, 113 rapes and 142 molestation cases were reported. These victims include young girls, women. However, if we look at the comparative data of the last few years recorded in the police records, these incidents have decreased. But there are many such cases which do not reach the police station due to fear of defamation and there are many such cases in which FIR is not registered even after complaints.
Scoundrels were afraid of Code Red, girls were fearless
Code Red Police was formed in 2017 to teach a lesson to scoundrels and to give a sense of security to women, young girls and girls. Earlier, the Code Red team was deployed in schools, colleges or places where women used to come and go more. This team used to patrol regularly. If any information or complaint was received anywhere, then this team used to reach the spot and teach a lesson to the scoundrels. With time, the Code Red team disappeared from the streets. This team seemed to instill fear in the miscreants.

In such a situation, how will the dream of a molestation-free city be fulfilled? Shakti Task Force was formed on 8 April 23 with a view to making Jabalpur molestation-free and taking initiative towards making it a safe city for daughters, and for the safety and respect of women and girls. Shakti Task Force was formed on the lines of Code Red. Every day, a female force of 4 and a male force of 2 were deployed along with the team in-charge. This force was deployed for women’s safety, equipped with necessary resources. Every day a team used to visit colleges, schools, other educational institutions and public places of different police station areas from 9 am to 1 pm and from 5 pm to 9 pm. But after a few days this force disappeared from the roads.
Now the question arises how the dream of a molestation free city will be realized in such a situation.
First Code Red and then Shakti Task Force were formed with the objective of making women, young girls and girls feel safe. But these campaigns stopped due to lack of police force. But the police is serious about rape and molestation cases and action is taken immediately as soon as a complaint is received and action is also taken against the accused.
