Operation Sindhu: Evacuation flight from Iran arrives with 310 Indian nationals

New Delhi, June 21 (UNI) Another evacuation flight from Iran arrived in New Delhi this evening, with 310 Indian nationals, taking the number of Indians evacuated to 827 so far, under Operation Sindhu. Another flight is expected to arrive later tonight.

The MEA spokesperson said in a post on X:

“Another evacuation flight from Mashhad landed in New Delhi at 1630 hrs on 21 June with 310 Indian nationals from Iran.

“With this, a total of 827 Indians have been evacuated.”

Another flight is expected to arrive at 11.30 pm tonight.

India is also to evacuate Nepali and Sri Lankan nationals from Iran, following the Nepalese and Sri Lankan governments approaching India for help.

The Indian Embassy in Tehran has issued a notice inviting Nepalis and Sri Lankan nationals in Iran to establish contact.

“On request of the governments of Nepal and Sri Lanka, the Indian Embassy’s evacuation efforts in Iran will also cover citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka,” the Embassy of India in Iran said in a post on X on Saturday. “The citizens of Nepal and Sri Lanka may urgently reach out to the embassy, either on the Telegram channel or over the emergency contact numbers. +989010144557; +989128109115; +989128109109.”
