Lucknow, Jan 11 (UNI) Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday directed the officials to operate bus services from all districts of Uttar Pradesh to facilitate pilgrimages to the sacred Sangam during Maha Kumbh.
The CM issued the directive during a meeting with the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) officials to review preparations for the grand event.
He said that bus services should be available throughout the Maha Kumbh period, not just on major bathing days, ensuring seamless travel for devotees. He also directed that a detailed timetable for these bus services be widely publicised for public convenience.
He said, “No passenger should face any inconvenience during their journey.”
Yogi issued strict directives to prevent bus drivers and conductors from consuming intoxicants. Furthermore, private bus operators were directed to strictly comply with fixed fares and capacity limits, ensuring no overloading or exploitation of passengers.
UPSRTC is preparing to deploy 7,000 buses for Maha Kumbh pilgrims, with 550 shuttle buses dedicated to the fairgrounds for easy mobility within the area.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Transport, the Principal Secretary, the Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, and the Managing Director of UPSRTC.
