OpenAI HR chief Julia Villagra to step down

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) OpenAI chief people officer (HR chief) Julia Villagra is set to leave the organization, as per the reports.

A Chief People Officer (CPO) also known as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) is a senior executive responsible for shaping and leading the human resource strategy of the organization.

The move marks a leadership shakeup at artificial intelligence company OpenAI, as competition for top AI talent intensifies among rivals like Meta, Google, and Anthropic.

Julia Villagra was promoted to Chief People Officer in March after joining the company last year as Head of Human Resources.

Academically, Julia has completed her education from Boston University College of Fine Arts. She did bachelors in music and vocal performance.

She worked previously at multiple organizations including Tertulia chamber music, Hudson River Trading and Andiamo in different capacities.

Reportedly, Jason Kwon, current Chief strategy officer of OpenAI will take up Villagra’s position until CEO hires a replacement for the post.

OpenAI is continuously leveraging the AI power in its enterprise operations. Besides, recently launching GPT-5 the company intends to integrate AI in operational processes for easing the workloads.
