Bhopal: The “Open Tennis Tournament (Winter Edition 2025)” was inaugurated today at the BHEL Officers’ Club, Bhopal, marking the beginning of four days of exciting and competitive tennis matches from 13th to 16th November.
The tournament features a wide range of categories including Under-12 Boys and Girls, Men’s Singles, Women’s Singles, Men’s Singles (35+), and Men’s Doubles (combined age 45+). Over 130 players from Bhopal and neighbouring regions have registered for the event, making it one of the most enthusiastically received editions to date.
The Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony was Ilaiyaraaja T (IAS), Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation, while Rupesh Telang, General Manager (Transformers & Feeders), BHEL Bhopal, and President of the BHEL Officers’ Club, graced the occasion as the Special Guest.
The tournament is co-sponsored by the State Bank of India (SBI), with Honda and SBI Cards as organising partners. Participants received attractive goodies during the sign-in ceremony held on 12th November, and cash prizes will be awarded to winners and runners-up across all categories.
With the blessings of Pradeep Kumar Upadhyay, BHEL Bhopal Unit Head, the event is being held under the leadership of Pratik Srivastava, Tennis Secretary, and under the guidance of Rupesh Telang, Club President, and S.S. Patel, Vice President.
