One killed, 5 injured in explosion at Solar Explosives unit in Nagpur

Nagpur, Sep 4 (UNI) A powerful explosion at the Solar Explosives plant in Bazargaon , around 40 km from Nagpur, shook the region shortly after midnight on Wednesday, killing one and injuring 5 workers, three of them critically.
The blast occurred around 12:34 AM in the company’s PP-15 unit and claimed the life of 25-year-old supervisor Mayur Ganveer.
According to company officials, five workers sustained burn injuries in the incident. They were rushed to a private hospital in Nagpur, where three of them are reported to be in critical condition.
Sources said the blast severely damaged the explosives unit building.
Police have cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
This is the second major blast at the Bazargaon facility in two years. In December 2023, a massive explosion at the same plant had claimed the lives of nine workers.
