On Raksha Bandhan, CM disburses Rs 1,859 crore to women beneficiaries

Bhopal: In a significant move to empower women, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Thursday disbursed Rs 1,859 crore to over 1.26 crore women under the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana. The funds were transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts with a single click during a state-level program held in Narsinghgarh, Rajgarh district, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Yadav emphasized that Raksha Bandhan is more than a festival; it symbolizes the enduring bond between brothers and sisters, strengthening social and family values. He invoked the story of Draupadi and Lord Krishna to illustrate the power of this relationship, pledging that his government would continue to work tirelessly for the welfare and empowerment of women in the state.

The Chief Minister’s office also announced the transfer of Rs 43.90 crore as financial assistance to over 28 lakh women under the Ujjwala Yojana. This latest disbursement brings the total amount transferred to women under the Ladli Behna Yojana to more than Rs 41,000 crore since its inception.
