Nurse dies of suicide after live-in partner refuses marriage

Bhopal: A 30-year-old nurse, Megha Yadav, tragically ended her life in the city after allegedly consuming an overdose of anesthesia. Megha, who worked at JK Hospital, passed away on Thursday morning while receiving treatment at the same facility.

The incident unfolded on Wednesday night when her live-in partner of four years, Rupesh Sahu, brought her to the hospital in an unconscious state. According to the Kolar police, Rupesh deceptively identified himself as her brother to the staff and fled the scene shortly after her admission. His mobile phone has since been switched off.

Megha’s family claims she was under severe mental duress. Her brother, Raja Yadav, revealed that the family was supportive of the relationship and that Rupesh had initially agreed to marriage six months ago. However, he recently began backing out and distancing himself, leaving Megha mentally disturbed.

Police have registered a case and seized medical supplies from Megha’s rented room for forensic analysis. While she appeared normal during a final call with her nephew, the subsequent actions of her partner have centered the investigation on his role in her distress.
