Number of Mexican migrants returning from US reaches 75,000

Mexico city, July 24 (UNI) About 75,000 Mexicans have returned home from the United States since January 20, when Donald Trump took office, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said.

“According to the report I received this morning, since January 20, when President Trump took office, about 75,000 compatriots, Mexicans and Mexican women, have repatriated,” Sheinbaum said at a press conference on Wednesday.

Sheinbaum also urged those who have returned to the country but have not yet received official confirmation of repatriation to contact the nearest migration service office to gain access to government services.

In January, US President Donald Trump, in his first speech as the 47th president of the US, promised to immediately stop illegal migration and begin the process of extraditing millions of migrants.
