Bhopal: A serious incident involving the alleged assault and intimidation of student Tushar by Madhya Pradesh Pharmacy Council President Sanjay Jain has sparked widespread outrage across the state. The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) has submitted formal complaints to the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary of the Public Health and Medical Education Department, demanding strict action.
NSUI State Vice-President Ravi Parmar, in a detailed letter to top government officials, has sought Jain’s immediate removal from his post and the initiation of punitive measures. Parmar stated that on 28 November 2025, Tushar had visited the Pharmacy Council office regarding a registration-related grievance. He was allegedly dragged inside by Jain, along with employees and security guards, confined to a room, brutally beaten and threatened with death—an act termed a grave constitutional violation and a criminal offence.
The NSUI’s demands include Jain’s dismissal to ensure an impartial inquiry, withdrawal of the FIR filed against Tushar, investigation of staff and guards present during the incident, seizure of CCTV footage, and issuance of strict accountability guidelines for state councils.
NSUI district president Akshay Tomar warned that failure to act promptly would lead to intensified state-wide protests, asserting that atrocities against students will not be tolerated.
