Bhopal: Health services in Madhya Pradesh are deteriorating steadily, with a growing network of fake hospitals allegedly operating under the protection of the health department, the NSUI has claimed. NSUI state vice-president Ravi Parmar accused responsible officials of not only granting recognition to such hospitals but also enabling large-scale corruption and fraud under public welfare schemes such as Ayushman Bharat.
Parmar said the NSUI had repeatedly raised concerns over fake hospitals, unqualified doctors and nursing staff shown only on paper, but instead of taking action, officials were shielding such institutions. He alleged that the health department had now taken a “highly suspicious step” by removing details of registered doctors and nursing staff from its online portal.
According to Parmar, this decision would make it easier to falsely show the same doctor or nurse as registered with eight to ten hospitals simultaneously, without any scope for public verification. He termed the move as one that directly benefits hospital mafias while endangering patient safety.
NSUI district president Akshay Tomar also levelled serious allegations, claiming corruption had reached alarming levels. He alleged that officials were preparing forged physical inspection reports after accepting bribes, thereby granting illegal protection to fake hospitals.
Tomar said citizens had a fundamental right to know whether hospitals had duly registered doctors and staff. By removing this information, transparency had been deliberately dismantled, he alleged.
The NSUI demanded restoration of online transparency, a high-level probe into fake registrations, strict action against guilty officials and immediate cancellation of licences of fake hospitals. Parmar warned of statewide protests and legal action if corrective steps were not taken.
