NSUI alleges injustice in MP staff nurse recruitment

Bhopal: The healthcare system in Madhya Pradesh is already grappling with a serious crisis following the nursing scam, and the situation has worsened due to thousands of vacant staff nurse posts in government hospitals and health centres across the state. In this backdrop, the recent recruitment notification for staff nurses issued by the state government has drawn sharp criticism from the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI).

NSUI State Vice-President Ravi Parmar accused state government.

He said the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board has advertised what has been described as a “bumper recruitment”, but the notification reportedly offers only seven posts for the entire state, despite thousands of vacancies.

Parmar further alleged that the recruitment process has allocated zero posts for candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). He termed this a serious violation of the spirit of social justice and the constitutional reservation system.

Bhopal NSUI district president Akshay Tomar said such limited recruitment would weaken healthcare services and deny opportunities to deserving youth. The organisation has demanded that the government disclose the actual number of vacant posts, initiate large-scale recruitment, and ensure full implementation of reservation provisions.
