- Piplani Police recover Rs 6 Lakh in stolen jewelry
Bhopal – In a significant breakthrough, Pipilani Police have nabbed notorious burglar Iliyas Khan, who had been evading arrest for approximately two months. Khan’s apprehension follows the earlier capture of his accomplice, Asif Khan. Police have recovered gold and silver jewelry valued at Rs 6,00,000 from Iliyas Khan, linking him to multiple break-ins.
Iliyas Khan confessed to two burglaries within the Pipilani police station’s jurisdiction and another in the Sukhi Sewania area. The first Pipilani incident, reported on April 18, 2025, involved the theft of gold and silver jewelry from Ram Kishore Pushpak’s residence. The second, on May 26, 2025, saw gold chains, earrings, tops, rings, and silver anklets stolen from Priyanka Sharma’s home.
Acting on directives from senior police officials, including Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra and Additional Commissioner Awadhesh Goswami, a dedicated team led by Pipilani SHO Chandrika Singh Yadav successfully tracked down Khan. He was arrested near Bhopal Railway Station on June 12, 2025, based on a tip-off.
During interrogation, Khan admitted to breaking into a deserted house in Gopal Nagar, Pipilani, about two months ago with Asif Khan, and another locked house in Balaji Nagar, Pipilani, approximately 20-25 days prior. Further interrogation is expected to reveal more crimes across other police station areas.
