No OTP required for filling out enumeration form

  • CEO Sanjeev Kumar Jha cautions voters

Bhopal: There is no need for an OTP to be requested by any BLO or other official to fill out the enumeration form during SIR. MP Chief Electoral Officer Sanjeev Kumar Jha cautioned voters that they can contact their area BLO or the nearest helpdesk to obtain information about themselves, their parents, or grandparents in the 2003 voter list. Information can also be obtained online at voters.eci.gov.in or ceoelection.mp.gov.in. He urged citizens to follow safety precautions when filling out the SIR sheet. Fill out the SIR only on the official government website.

Safety precautions

Do not share OTPs or personal information with anyone. Asking for OTP, Aadhaar number, mobile number, etc. via phone/message by the Election Department or any official is not part of the SIR process. Anyone asking for such information may be a cyber fraud call.

The SIR process is completely free. Be wary of any fees, processing charges, or requests for payment – such messages/calls may be fraudulent. Do not open links received on WhatsApp or social media. Messages such as “Your voter card will be cancelled” or “Fill in the SIR immediately” may be fake. Be cautious when using cyber cafes for SIR. Turn off auto-save, clear browser history/cache when finished, and log out compulsorily. Report any suspicious calls, links, or activity to the National Cyber Crime Portal: www.cybercrime.gov.in or the helpline: 1930.
