- HAL CEO says India can establish leadership in global defense
Bhopal: In an effort to promote indigenization in the defense production sector and strengthen collaboration between academia, local industries, and defense manufacturers, the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Bhopal, organized a seminar on “Innovation in Defense Technology for a Self-Reliant India” on Monday.
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Nashik, CEO, Saket Chaturvedi, addressing the seminar as the chief guest, said that India’s true strength lies in the partnership between our young engineers, research institutions, and industry. If we work together to develop technology indigenously, India can establish leadership in the global defense and aviation sector in the coming years.
He said that HAL today is not only a leader in fighter aircraft development but is also focusing on completely indigenizing several critical systems. For this, the role of institutions like NITTTR is crucial.
State poised to play a strong role: Tripathi
NITTTR Director Prof. C.C. Tripathi stated that Madhya Pradesh is poised to play a strong role in indigenous technological development, and NITTTR Bhopal is emerging as a central knowledge-supporting institution. NITTTR is preparing a comprehensive report on the capabilities of institutions in Madhya Pradesh that can contribute to the development and manufacturing of products required by HAL.
R.K. Bharti, highlighting the objectives of the symposium, said that this initiative by NITTTR Bhopal is commendable and that cooperation and collaboration between HAL and private industries is essential in the aviation and aerospace sectors. In the defense sector, the supply of parts is essential to jet speeds.
P.R. Baghel delivered a lecture on “Design, Development, and Certification of Fighter Aircraft.” Dr. Ajit Bhandakar discussed “Indigenization in Defense Technology.” Other guests included Ashok Patel, C.P. Sharma and Dean of NITTTR Bhopal Dr. Sanjay Agarwal, Dr. Manish Bhargava, Dr. P.K. Purohit, Prof. M.A. Rizvi along with representatives from various industries.
