Night temperatures above normal at many places over Gujarat

Pune, Feb 25 (UNI) Night temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over Gujarat state; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad and east Rajasthan; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at isolated places over west Rajasthan, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Lakshadweep.

These were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh; below normal (-3°C to -1°C) at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal and near normal over rest parts of the country.

On Tuesday, the lowest minimum temperature of 8.5°C was reported at Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) over the plains of the country.

Hailstorms were reported at isolated places over Assam and Sikkim.

Dense fog (visibility 50-199 m) was reported in isolated pockets of Odisha and Meghalaya.

Thunderstorm with lightning was reported at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh and Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and at isolated places in Assam and Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather has prevailed in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat State, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema, coastal Karnataka, interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
