- Police crack case: Three held, 2 at large
Bhopal: Koh-e-Fiza police have solved a major jewelry theft case involving stolen ornaments worth Rs 2 crore from the house of property dealer Anand Parashar in Om Nagar, Halalpura. Shockingly, the mastermind behind the heist was Anand’s own niece, Dolly Parashar, who conspired with her boyfriend Ankit Tiwari to rob her uncle’s house.
On September 29, while Anand’s family attended his daughter’s ring ceremony in Gwalior, Dolly secretly provided crucial information to the thieves. Ankit roped in his contractor friend Ravi Vishwakarma, who, along with Devashish Sharma and Ajay Shakya, executed the robbery.
The case was cracked by police through a combination of CCTV footage analysis, PSTN data review, and inputs from informants. DCP Abhinav Chouksey confirmed that suspicious phone activity and CCTV visuals led to the arrest of Ravi. During interrogation, Ravi confessed and revealed the entire plan, including Dolly’s role.
So far, Dolly, Ravi, and Devashish have been arrested, while Ankit and Ajay remain absconding. The police recovered four mobile phones, three silver coins, and 1,250 grams of gold jewelry worth approximately Rs 1.5 crore. The remaining stolen jewelry, worth around Rs 50 lakh, is still with the absconding accused.
Dolly and Ankit had planned to elope
The investigation also revealed that Dolly and Ankit had planned to elope and start a new life with the stolen wealth. Ankit has prior criminal records, and Dolly believed the theft would secure their future. The police continue efforts to arrest the remaining two accused.
