New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will take Amir Rashid Ali, an aide to Dr. Umar Nabi, main accused in the Delhi Red Fort blast case, to Kashmir for a confrontation with other arrested suspects, officials said on Monday.
A remand copy accessed by UNI reveals that Ali was involved in providing logistical support and was engaged in terrorist-related activities.
Ali, in whose name the car used in the attack was registered, was arrested in Delhi on Sunday. He was produced before a special NIA court on Monday, which remanded him to ten days of NIA custody.
The remand application, which contained shocking information, stated, “Amir is found to be involved in terrorist-related activities. He was found involved in providing assistance to the deceased accused, Dr. Umar Nabi. Amir provided logistical and procurement support to Umar.”
The note further revealed that Amir was found to have visited a safe house arranged by Umar and allegedly assisted in making the IED and explosives used in the blast.
In an interview with UNI, Smriti Chaturvedi, the remand advocate in the matter, said that Amir displayed no remorse.
“He had no fear, remorse, or regret on his face. He is the only registered owner of the vehicle used in the blast. The ten-day remand was sought by the NIA and was granted by the court,” she said.
