NIA takes two Delhi blast suspects to crime scene in J&K

New Delhi (December 9, UNI): In a latest update on the Delhi blast and white-collar terrorism module case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is conducting search operations at three locations in Jammu and Kashmir. NIA officials, accompanied by CRPF personnel and local police, have brought two terror suspects, Dr. Adil Rathar and Jasir Bilal Wani, to a forest site in Anantnag.

A team from the NIA is currently conducting raids in a forest area of Anantnag district.

With the assistance of police and the CRPF, NIA officials brought the two arrested accused, Dr. Adil Rathar and Jassir Bilal Wani, to the scene during the investigation. Both were arrested in connection with the “white-collar” terror module case.

Currently, several inputs are being scrutinized to corroborate the statements of both accused and the related identification processes carried out.

Last month, on November 10, as part of the investigation into the explosion case near the Red Fort, efforts were made to widen the scope of the probe.

The NIA has so far arrested six people in connection with the Red Fort blast case. Initially registered by Delhi Police, the case was later transferred to the NIA by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The NIA has confirmed that a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) was used in the Delhi blast by Dr. Umar Nabi, a suicide bomber. He was driving a Hyundai i20 car that was used as a VBIED, which exploded outside the Red Fort, killing fifteen people and injuring over thirty.

Separately, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has registered two FIRs and issued two summons to Javed Ahmed Siddiqui, Chairman of Al Falah University. Following the Delhi Police FIR, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and arrested Siddiqui after conducting raids.
