New Delhi, Nov 14 (UNI) In a latest development in connection with the Red Fort bomb blast case, the five teams of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out search operations across the nation in Uttar Pradesh, Jammu, Haryana and the National Capital Region but no arrests have been made so far.
Speaking with the UNI today, an NIA official said that as of now they have not made any arrests in the matter, but their extensive investigation was on.
“We interrogated around 50 new suspects in relation to the matter. We are also examining CCTV footage and dump data of the cell phones to zero in on more suspects. We are in constant touch with the JK Police,” said the official.
The JK Police have as of now arrested 15 doctors and have detained three medical professionals.
Meanwhile, Government sources said a financial audit of the Al Falah University was on to decide the future course of action.
“The Economic Offences Wing of the Haryana Police is also doing a parallel probe,” the official informed.
Al-Falah University is reportedly the epicentre of the ongoing investigation into the Delhi Blast case.
The Doctor Terror module had planned to carry out terrorist activities at more than 32 places across the nation on December 6. However, JK Police foiled their plan.
The investigation traces back to an objectionable poster containing threats to security forces, put up in the Nowgam Police Station area of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. A case was registered on October 19 in this regard.
The evidence in the Delhi Red Fort Blast case has indicated that Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) handlers were in touch with the Terror Doctor Module which were allegedly behind the blast.
Also, the investigation agencies are now claiming that a modified explosive might have been used in the blast near Red Fort Metro stop.
The agencies are also examining documents containing information about white collar educated radicals who have been arrested between 2001 and 2025.
