New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested seven foreign nationals, including six Ukrainian nationals and one American citizen, for allegedly providing terrorist training in Myanmar.
According to the information, the arrested individuals include six Ukrainian nationals and one American citizen.
The NIA stated that all the accused had illegally entered India and were allegedly involved in providing training in weapons handling and drone operations in Myanmar. During the probe, it was also revealed that drones used for training purposes were procured from Europe.
They were produced before a special NIA court, which remanded all seven accused to 11 days of NIA custody.
The agency is now interrogating them regarding illegal entry into India, arms training, drone operations, and the network involved in drone procurement.
The NIA is also investigating the broader links of the accused to identify any connections with terror organizations or networks, and to determine whether they were involved in training operatives for a larger terrorist module.
