Bhopal: In a significant move to bolster the state’s anti-corruption efforts, Governor Mangubhai Patel has officially appointed Narendra Pratap Singh as the new Deputy Lokayukta of Madhya Pradesh. The appointment, made under Section 3 of the Deputy Lokayukta Act, entrusts him with a critical role in tackling corruption within the state.
The state government’s notification of his appointment comes just after Singh’s recent retirement on August 31 from his post as Principal Secretary (Law). His extensive experience and distinguished career in the legal and judicial fields were key factors in his selection for this crucial role.
A seasoned officer of the Higher Judicial Service, Singh previously served as the Principal Judge of the Family Court in Indore before the state government appointed him as Principal Secretary of the Law Department in 2024. His proven track record and deep understanding of legal frameworks are expected to be instrumental in effectively implementing anti-corruption measures.
