New Delhi. NBCC (India) Limited will construct the permanent campus of a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Khajuri Khas, North-East Delhi. The foundation stone ceremony was held on 2 March 2026 in the presence of Rekha Gupta, Ashish Sood, Manoj Tiwari and Kapil Mishra, along with senior officials from Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and NBCC.
The Chief Minister had announced in October 2025 that a new Kendriya Vidyalaya would be opened in Khajuri Khas to provide quality education to students in the area.
The project, estimated at 47.80 crore, will be developed on a 1.82-acre plot with a built-up area of 8,725 square metres. The G+4 structure will accommodate 1,520 students and include 38 well-ventilated classrooms, a grand double-height entrance lobby, a multipurpose court, a dedicated play area for Bal Vatika, lifts for universal accessibility and parking facilities.
Designed with sustainability at its core, the campus aims to achieve a 4-star GRIHA rating. It will feature solar power systems, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, a sewage treatment plant, EV charging points and approximately 25% green cover. The construction timeline has been set at 24 months.
