National wealth being spent on few billionaires: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Jan 28 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday accused BJP of spending nation’s wealth on a handful of billionaires.

Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said, “He had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this critical issue. In the letter, he alleged that the BJP-led central government is diverting the nation’s wealth to benefit a select group of billionaires.”

“These billionaires are first granted loans, which are then waived. So far, loans amounting to Rs 10 lakh crore, taken by approximately 500 billionaires, have been forgiven,” he claimed.

He further added, “If the government wants to waive loans, it should waive those of the middle class and farmers.”

Kejriwal also pointed out that the middle class earns Rs 12 lakh annually, half of which is spent on paying various taxes, but in return, they receive no benefits.

Kejriwal demanded that no billionaire’s loan should be forgiven stating,“ If the loans of the wealthy are not waived, tax rates could be halved. GST rates could also be reduced, and GST on essential food items could be completely eliminated.”
