New Delhi, Feb 14 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to the 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel who were killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, saying their sacrifice continues to inspire the nation.
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Remembering the brave heroes who laid down their lives in Pulwama on this day in 2019. Their devotion, resolve, and service to the nation remain forever etched in our collective consciousness. Every Indian draws strength from their enduring courage.”
The February 14, 2019, attack in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir remains one of the deadliest assaults on Indian security forces in recent history. A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a convoy of the Central Reserve Police Force, killing 40 personnel and injuring many others. The Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the attack.
The incident triggered widespread national grief and outrage, leading to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.
As the country pauses to remember, the Prime Minister’s message underscores a sentiment widely shared across India, that the courage and sacrifice of the Pulwama victims will remain a lasting symbol of duty and patriotism.
