- Dr. Yadav participates in Fit India-Run with Indian Army Marathon, distributes prizes to winners
Bhopal: CM Dr. Yadav has said that the whole country and the world are proud of the Indian Army. The army has made its special identity as a highly disciplined unit. The Indian Army made its presence felt in the most difficult times by solving many challenges of the world with its ability and competence.
The CM was addressing the Army Marathon program organized at Dronachal with the motto of “Fit India Run with Indian Army” for fitness-unity and patriotism. Dr. Yadav also distributed prizes to the marathon winners. On this occasion, Bhangra dance was presented full of enthusiasm and vigor. Army officials presented mementoes to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav.
Son and daughter deserve equal rights and respect
The CM said that the country is getting empowered under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The CM said that Army Day is celebrated on 15 January in memory of General K.M. Cariappa taking charge as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1949. In this sequence, the initiative of organizing Army Marathon by Sudarshan Chakra Corps is commendable. He appealed to maintain its continuity and called upon more and more people to participate in the marathon.
The CM said that son and daughter are equal in ability and qualification and their rights are also equal. Therefore, prizes of equal amount should be given to the winning daughters in the Army Marathon.
Prizes distributed
The Chief Minister presented a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to the winner of the men’s category Mr. Rohit Verma under the Half Marathon Open Category, Rs 50 thousand to the runner up Mr. Harish and a cheque of Rs 25 thousand to Mr. Hukum who stood third and a coupon of Madhya Pradesh Tourism as prizes. In the women’s category, Ms. Bharti Nain, who secured first position, Ms. Kiran Sahu, who secured second position and Ms. Preeti Khandelwal, who secured third position were awarded.
