‘Nail-biting’ children are generally those of teachers: Yoga Guru Hansa

New Delhi, March 4 (UNI) Children having the habit of biting their nails or slapping others are mostly the kids of teachers and face repeated scolding, according to renowned Yoga Guru Dr Hansa Yogendra who cited some ‘worldwide survey’.

She noted that children have immense energy which their parents should channel properly for their overall development.

“For the overall development of any person, it is essential to have a balanced mind. Our mind is ready to do anything only when it is balanced. An unbalanced mind cannot learn anything,” said Dr Hansa, the Director of Mumbai-based Yoga Institute, while addressing a function here on the launch of the Indian Yoga Association (IYA) App.

“A survey conducted worldwide revealed that children, who have the habit of biting their nails or slapping others, are mostly the kids of teachers. They are regularly scolded in school and even at home, especially if the parents are teachers. The children are scolded, saying don’t do this, don’t do that,” added Dr Hansa, who is also known as ‘Hansa Ma’.

Disfavouring scolding of children, she said parents need to find ways to let the kids express themselves.

“If a child jumps on a sofa at home, you usually tell him not to do so. Instead, you should say ‘come, let’s jump together’. In this way, you can find solutions to your issues,” said the Yoga Guru.

On this occasion, Dr. Hansa Ma presented a yoga instructor certificate from Yoga Institute, Mumbai, to Dr. Asha Mishra Upadhyay, a journalist of United News of India (UNI), and blessed her.

Dr Hansa was honoured with the National Yoga Award by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2019.
