Chandigarh, Sumit Nagal of India, pairing with Federico Coria of Argentina ousted wild card Brazilian pair of Gilbert Klier Junior and Thiago Seyboth Wild 7-6 (6), 6-3 in the doubles first round match in the $ 54,160 ATP Challenger at Campinas (Brazil) on Tuesday.
The first set was evenly contested and the deadlock was resolved in tie-breaker which Nagal/Coria won by 7-6 (6). Nagal/Coria wrapped up the match by posting a 6-3 verdict in the second set. The match lasted one hour and 22 minutes.
Nagal/Coria won 43 total points in comparison to 38 by Klier Junior/Seyboth Wild.
Winner of the singles title in Buenos Aires ATP Challenger, Sumit Nagal, who is now ranked 135, was given a first round bye in the singles. In second round, the rising Indian player is pitted against Gastao Elias of Portugal who beat Martin Cuevas of Uruguay 7-5, 6-2.
