NABARD charts Rs 3.75 lakh crore vision for MP’s prosperity

Bhopal, At the historic Minto Hall, NABARD unveiled its State Focus Paper 2026–27, projecting a massive Rs 3.75 lakh crore priority sector credit potential. The seminar, graced by Cooperation Minister Vishwas Sarang and Agriculture Minister Aidal Singh Kansana, set a high-octane roadmap for the state’s rural and economic empowerment.

Powering the “Annadata” and entrepreneurs

Agriculture remains the heartbeat of Madhya Pradesh, contributing 44.36% to the GSDP. To fuel this engine, NABARD has earmarked Rs 2.08 lakh crore for farming and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the MSME sector—the state’s burgeoning industrial backbone—is slated for a Rs 1.46 lakh crore credit boost.

A thriving financial landscape

The state’s economic vitals show a “Green Signal” for investors:

GSDP: Reached Rs 15.03 lakh crore with a 6.05% growth rate.

* Banking Strength: A robust network of 8,779 branches and an impressive 83.51% Credit-Deposit ratio.

* Inclusivity: Over 78,000 tribal families and 2.26 lakh farmers through 426 FPOs are already benefiting from NABARD’s grassroots interventions.

Digital & infrastructure leap

CGM Smt. C. Saraswathi highlighted that MP is leading the nation in PACS computerization, with over 4,500 societies now on ERP systems. From watershed projects to Rs 4,132 crore in rural infrastructure funding, NABARD’s strategy ensures that credit doesn’t just flow—it transforms lives.
