Jammu, (UNI) Stating that if elected to power will focus on development, corruption-free governance, former chief minister and Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Sunday said that his dream is to make people of Doda region politically and economically empowered.
“My heart is beating for the people of Doda region and the rest of UT. My dream is to work for you people and ensure all of you are politically and economically empowered to an extent so that you won’t need to beg before anyone,” Azad told workers while addressing public rallies at Chiralla, Bhaderwah in the last leg of his ten-day visit to the erstwhile Doda district.
He reiterated that he will continue his political battle to secure the jobs and land rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and said that his aim of returning to Jammu and Kashmir is attached with the socio-political emancipation of commoners.
Azad was apprised with a number of public issues and he promised that he will take up with authorities for their redressal.
The DPAP chairman said that his party was strongly against the coercive measures of land eviction by the Jammu and Kashmir government and it was due to the party protests that the former was forced to stop the drive.
He said that securing land and jobs of local people is the primary agenda of his party, therefore the fight shall continue until guarantee is granted by the Government of India.
