Bhopal: In a discourse on Thursday, Munishri Praman Sagar Maharaj emphasized the profound influence a mother’s values have on her child’s development. He articulated that children absorb the values and qualities present in their home environment, stating, “If the mother is cultured, the child will also be cultured.” This assertion highlights the early and significant dialogue that occurs between a mother and her unborn child, suggesting that even before birth, a mother’s values can shape her child’s character.
Munishri illustrated this concept with a powerful analogy: just as a seed watered with dirty water grows but loses its taste, a child raised in a negative environment will likely develop undesirable traits. He stressed that good qualities flourish in individuals nurtured by positive “sanskar” or values, while those raised with poor sanskars may exhibit contrary behaviors.
“Sanskars,” he explained, represent the purification of life, akin to carving a stone to reveal its beauty. These embedded marks influence our behaviors, relationships, and decision-making processes. Munishri’s insights serve as a reminder of the critical role that maternal influence plays in shaping future generations.
In conjunction with this discourse, a special celebration for Raksha Bandhan is planned for August 9, honoring the resilience of 700 munis, reflecting the communal spirit and the importance of values in society.
