Bhopal: Muni Shri Praman Sagar Maharaj, addressing a gathering at Vidyapraman Gurukulam, Awadhpuri, shared a powerful message on family values and responsibilities. He said, “If a father fails to instill good values, the son’s future is ruined. But if a capable son abandons his father in an old age home, the father’s future is ruined.”
He highlighted that in today’s world, children focus more on rights than on duties, unlike in the past when even the less educated upheld their responsibilities with sincerity. Quoting Lord Ram’s sacrifice of his right to the throne for the sake of his father’s honor, Muni Shri called it the highest example of filial duty.
He reflected, “The lack of duty and the obsession with rights is the key difference between yesterday and today.” Muni Shri urged all family members—fathers, sons, brothers, and daughters-in-law—to perform their roles sincerely to ensure harmony. He advised young professionals to work not to impress others but with inner joy, and to focus only on tasks they can control, stressing, “Make efforts, don’t fear the results.”
