Bhopal: Crime Branch police have arrested a man who allegedly works as a model in Mumbai for trafficking drugs, seizing 11.5 grams of MDMA (MD drug) worth approximately Rs 1.65 lakh. The arrest was made while the suspect was attempting to sell the synthetic drug in the city.
The accused, identified as Sifat Ali, a native of Shivpuri, was apprehended by police near an under-construction building on Eidgah Hills on Sunday afternoon after a tip-off. Sub-Inspector Jaswant Singh stated that upon searching Ali, police recovered the MDMA and two mobile phones.
Police revealed that Ali had purchased the MDMA in Indore two days prior and traveled to Bhopal to sell it. The police are now investigating Ali’s network to uncover the source of the drugs in Indore and dismantle the wider drug trafficking gang. The accused has been booked under the NDPS Act.
