- Dhar’s hereditary artist Mohammad Khatri organises exhibition in many cities of Japan

Dhar district’s traditional Bagh print handicraft has once again succeeded in making its mark at the international level. Shilp Guru and Gold Medalist Mohammad Yusuf Khatri demonstrated the art of traditional Bagh print of Madhya Pradesh in the programs organized in Japan, which won the hearts of the people of Japan.
Mohammad Yusuf Khatri, hereditary artist of Baag print handicraft, demonstrated master classes and craftsmanship of Bagh print in various cities of Japan. He taught the nuances of this art to the people of Japan in exhibitions held in major cities like Osaka, Kyoto and Sakai between 12th and 20th October. Indian Ambassador to Japan Sibi George and Development Commissioner of Textile Ministry Amrit Raj also appreciated his art. Yusuf gave a live demonstration of Bagh print art for three days in the ‘India Mela’ held in Kobe, about 40 km from Osaka, Japan. During this period, he gave training of this art in Museum of Modern Art Kyoto, Kokoka Kyoto International Community House in Wakayama city, Mina Sakai Park in Sakai city, which was highly appreciated. These people made handkerchiefs using the Bagh print technique.
Apart from this, Mohammad Yusuf Khatri presented a Bagh print stole to Consul General Chandru Appar at the India Banquet organized at the residence of Consul General of India, Osaka-Kobe, Japan, Chandru Appar.
