MP shines at IFFI Goa: A cultural friumph

Goa, – Incredible Madhya Pradesh left an indelible mark at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2025 in Goa, showcasing its rich cultural tapestry and creative prowess on a global stage. Led by Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary for Tourism, Culture, Home, and Managing Director of the MP Tourism Board, the state’s delegation effectively presented its unique creative potential and film-friendly environment.

= Premieres and prestigious accolades

A major highlight was the special premiere of two seminal films produced by MP Tourism: “The Sitarist” and the animated “Lokmata Ahilyabai.” Both films captivated audiences and earned critical acclaim for beautifully capturing the essence of Madhya Pradesh.

“The Sitarist,” starring the renowned sitarist Anoushka Shankar, takes viewers on a serene journey into the profound artistry of a sitar player, stunningly framed by MP’s natural beauty—its forests, lakes, and rural landscapes. The animated feature “Lokmata Ahilyabai” aims to introduce the new generation to the virtues of justice, compassion, and leadership embodied by Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar.

MP’s creative initiative received national and international recognition when IFFI honored ACS Shukla for the production of “The Sitarist.” Span Communications’ Naresh Khetrapal and “Lokmata Ahilyabai” director Dimple Dugar were also felicitated. ACS Shukla expressed pride, stating that the honor encourages the state to promote further quality cinema that sensitively portrays its cultural depth. Special screenings of films shot in MP, including Vimukth, Chambal, and Pinch, were also held during the festival.
