Bhopal: A high-level review meeting to assess the progress of implementation of newly enacted criminal laws in Madhya Pradesh was held at the Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Shiv Shekhar Shukla. The meeting focused on ensuring effective enforcement of the new legal provisions, evaluating the internal security situation and reviewing other key related matters.
Detailed discussions were held on strengthening the criminal justice system, improving forensic infrastructure, prison management, cyber crime control, counter-terrorism measures, narcotics control, disaster management and police modernisation. State-specific security and administrative issues were also deliberated upon.
From the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Joint Secretary (Internal Security–II) Nisha Tiwari and Joint Director Amrita Des attended the meeting. They were formally welcomed by Inspector General of Police and Secretary, Home Department, Krishnaweni Desavattu.
Senior officials from the Home Department and Police Headquarters, along with representatives from the Law and Legislative Affairs Department, Public Health and Family Welfare Department, Directorate of Prosecution, National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Madhya Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority, participated in the review.
