Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police have intensified their statewide drive to curb property-related crimes such as theft, burglary and robbery, leading to the recovery of stolen property worth more than Rs 1 crore over the past week. Coordinated operations across districts including Panna, Shivpuri, Indore, Ratlam and Bhopal have resulted in multiple arrests and significant seizures.
In Panna, police busted a gang targeting temples and vacant houses, arresting seven habitual offenders. The gang confessed to 19 thefts across Panna, Satna and Katni. Gold and silver ornaments, temple crowns and umbrellas, 2.5 kg of melted silver, tools, motorcycles and mobile phones worth about Rs 30 lakh were recovered.
Shivpuri’s Kolaras police solved a jewellery shop theft, arresting one accused and seizing over 9 kg of silver valued at around Rs 32 lakh. In Indore, police cracked two major cases within hours, recovering jewellery worth over Rs 19 lakh from separate thefts linked to a wedding absence and a zoo parking area.
Ratlam police arrested two members of an inter-state gang within 10 hours, recovering property worth Rs 5.22 lakh along with a car and tools. In Bhopal, Ayodhya Nagar police arrested three burglars and recovered stolen goods worth Rs 4.5 lakh.
Additional recoveries were reported from Chhatarpur, Balaghat, Vidisha, Khargone and Katni. The MP Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order and urged citizens to strengthen security measures and promptly report suspicious activities.
